The Great Copy






These 3 second graders copied the Statue of Liberty from my computer after they finished their work. My school is Freedom Elementary and every year we have a school-wide patriotic assembly on Nov. 12th, so we've been focusing on patriotic symbols in art class and they wanted to continue working on the theme. The Statue of Liberty is a challenge to draw and they did a great job!

Learning to draw by copying is a tried and true method and nowadays it's so easy to find images of line drawings for the kids to copy. These were drawn by third graders.

My kindergarteners made Frankenstine for Halloween but this class finished the day after, so I read My Monster  Mamma Loves Me So to them and added some purple and orange painted paper to the mix and voila. Adorable little monsters painted by adorable...
